Technicians from public institutions receive training on budgetary issues provided by Digepres

The Budget initiative provides knowledge on budgetary issues to technicians of public entities so that they can perform their functions effectively

The Standards and Methodologies Department of the General Directorate of Budget (Digepres) It began a cycle of training sessions on budgetary issues aimed at technicians from public institutions who are linked to the budget, to strengthen their knowledge and skills within their functions.

The aim is to share basic knowledge of budgetary policy among employees to acquire greater skills and provide tools to achieve better performance in their work.

In his welcoming remarks, the Director General of Budget, José Rijo Presbot, highlighted the importance of the meeting and the generation of timely information for effective decision-making.

“We need to know how to adjust plans and goals to improve public spending, that's why it's important to know the budget in detail to decide what needs to be done, who should do it, when, where, and how it will be done.”Rijo Presbot said.

The activity, which brought together more than 40 participants, was developed under the socialization of budgetary concepts with a component of exchange of experiences, which allowed for reflection and collective learning on the topics developed.

The training program covered topics related to the Legal and Regulatory Framework, Budget Cycle and its processes, Budget Classifiers, Alphabetical Guide to Imputations, Creation and Review of Programmatic Structures, Institutional Budget Programs, Budget Programming, Budget Modifications, Budget Management Index (IGP), Monitoring and Evaluation.

The meeting was facilitated by Dayana Crespo, José Ismael Peña and Samanda Velásquez from the Standards and Methodologies department of Digepres.

“With this initiative, the Budget Office provides knowledge to technicians in public entities so that they can perform their essential functions effectively.” the workshop organizers explained.

The training is the first of three that will take place on June 28, 29 and 30, and around 127 collaborators from different institutions are invited.

Among the participating institutions is the Superintendency for the Promotion and Protection of Free Competition (Pro-competition), State Land Titling Technical Unit, Ministry of Youth, Ministry of the Presidency, Ministry of Energy and Mines, Presidential Press Office and Superior Electoral Court.

Training service on budgeting topics

The General Directorate of Budget (Digepres) It offers public institutions training services on budgetary issues, with the aim of supporting them in strengthening their capacities in the efficient management of the budgetary system and is aimed at institutions of the central government, Autonomous and Decentralized Non-Financial Bodies, public institutions of Social Security, institutions for the Powers, Constitutional Bodies and Institutions for Non-Financial Public Enterprises and Local Governments.
