Budget inaugurates audiovisual studio “The Right to Know” as a contribution to transparency and social participation

The General Directorate of Budget (Digepres) It launched the Audiovisual Production Studio “The Right to Know”, an initiative of the Communications Department, as a way to continue contributing to the transparency and efficiency of the current budget management.

The opening ceremony was led by the Director General of Budget, José Rijo Presbot; Iván Ramírez, Deputy Director General of Budget; and Paola Chaljub, Head of the Communications Department.Presupuesto inaugura estudio audiovisual

Rijo gave the main speech at the event and stated that this is an effort to continue projecting the work of the institution. “This is a space to strengthen transparency and promote quality work in the Budget Department.”Rijo Presbot emphasized.

The Director General of Budget recalled that the concept of “Right to Know"It started as a regular hashtag on his Twitter account, as a mechanism to document and monitor the Budget. “When we arrived at the Budget Office, the Right to Know ceased to belong to José Rijo and now belongs to the institution. That is why Paola has taken on this role and transformed the Right to Know into an institutional responsibility, with the obligation to inform the public in a timely manner and with objective data about what is happening with the General State Budget.”.

Rijo emphasized that the "Right to Know" Production Study is a personal effort by the Communications team and that, for its implementation, the institution did not need to incur any expenses. “Everything here does not represent an expense for the General Directorate of Budget. For her part, Paola Chaljub expressed her appreciation for the trust and support her team receives, which has been crucial in implementing the projects led by the Communications department. Chaljub thanked Rijo Presbot and Ramírez from the General Directorate, as well as all the staff who have joined the department's initiatives.

“I am grateful for the support that both Rijo and Don Iván have always given us in each of our initiatives. And especially to the collaborators, who have assumed the leading role that corresponds to them and have allowed us to tell together the great story of change in the Budget.”Chaljub added.

Likewise, he reiterated the commitment of the Budget Communications team to transparency, social control and citizen participation.

Nobell Díaz, head of the Graphics and Audiovisual Production division, explained the studio's technical specifications. Meanwhile, Milossis Liriano, head of the Institutional Communication division, coordinated coverage and details of the event.

"Let's Talk About Budget" podcast

The audiovisual production studio “The Right to Know” is an open space available to government institutions, located in the facilities of the General Directorate of Budget.

It serves as the setting for the podcast “Let’s Talk About Budget”, produced by the Communications team and published through the institution’s digital platforms.

The "Right to Know" studio produces much of the audiovisual material published on social media. @DigepresRD, with the help of the same collaborators who act as talent and storytellers on budgetary issues.

Budget communication has focused on the technical aspects addressed from a citizen's, more human perspective, in order to bring the Budget closer to the citizens.
