The meeting seeks to identify fundamental aspects to generate changes at the programmatic and formulation level within the city council and local governments throughout the country.
Baní, Peravia. – The General Budget Directorate Representatives from the Baní Municipal Council and the City Hall met to begin work on establishing a new programmatic structure within the Mayor's Office. This meeting allowed Budget technicians to identify the actions taken by department representatives and their staff to achieve their objectives and goals within the city government, based on resource allocations.
The meeting consisted of a data collection exercise that highlighted categories and elements of internal organization related to the products and services offered to the residents.
The data were collected through individual and group interviews directed at departmental managers, divisions and areas of the Fire Department, Sports, Youth, Childhood, Gender, Municipal Police, Parks and Squares, Urban Planning and Municipal Works.
The work plan with the mayor's office focused specifically on identifying positive aspects of the city council's work, its impact on people, and weaknesses, which were socialized and agreed upon with the actors and managers of the processes.
The exchange between technicians from both institutions highlighted topics related to internal collaborators, market operations, general services, park and plaza renovations, social works, links with citizens, cleaning operations, recreational, sports and cultural activities, promotion of gender equality, citizen security, aspects articulating with youth, emergencies and training aimed at young people, women and men of the community.
The technical team of Budget It was made up of Erelys Martínez, Alejandrina Rodríguez, Rosmery Toribio and Joel Martínez, from the Local Governments division and Iranna Brito from the Expenditure Evaluation division.
The meeting allowed for the collection of valuable information that will help establish fundamental guidelines in the future to generate changes within the city council's Programmatic Structure and improve public policy objectives.
The activity was carried out in the conference room of the mayor's office of the municipality of Baní.
National work day
In addition to Baní, the team from Local Governments of the Digepres It carries out a nationwide work session aimed at changing the programmatic structure of city councils and municipal boards.
The process of change and improvement begins with a pilot program in 23 entities. These include the National District, Los Alcarrizos, Boca Chica, San Luis, Santiago, Dajabón, Pepillo Salcedo, La Vega, Moca, Bonao, Jarabacoa, Higüey, La Canela, Montecristi, and others.
