16 days of activism to raise awareness among employees and spread the message against this scourge

As part of the social commitment assumed by the General Directorate of Budget, the national White Ribbon campaign, called "16 days of activism against violence against women", was initiated at the institutional level.

DIGEPRES' initiative falls within the framework of Law No. 46-07, which declares November 25 to December 10 of each year as 16 Days of Activism. The institution, along with its collaborators, seeks to contribute to raising awareness of the urgent need to end violence against women and reaffirm the rights of equality and equity between men and women.

The start of the day of activism coincides with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which is commemorated to remember the assassination of the Mirabal sisters Patria, Minerva and María Teresa, along with Rufino de la Cruz, by the Trujillo regime in 1960.

In that same order, the culmination of the campaign corresponds to International Human Rights Day, which coherently sends the social message related to the need to guarantee women's rights and the end of gender violence.

As part of the agenda that marks the beginning of these 16 days of activism against violence against women, DIGEPRES He gave a white ribbon to each of the collaborators who are part of the institution and intends to develop an agenda of activities that includes talks and the deployment of a communication program, both internal and on social networks, aimed at raising awareness in society.
