The General Directorate of Budget (DIGEPRES) It obtained fifth place in the Index of Use of Information and Communication Technologies and Implementation of Electronic Government in the Dominican State, (iTICge) 2024, moving from position 17 to position 5 with an evaluation of 80.36 in the category "Best performance of institutions that provide services to the Government"; an annual award given by the Government Office of Information and Communication Technologies (OGTIC).
This evaluation by the ICT Institute of the Dominican Republic (iTicge), in which the Budget was assessed, is based on four essential pillars: Digital Government, the services it offers, internal efficiency, and transparency in public institutions. This systematic measurement tool highlights the efforts made and underway regarding the implementation of ICT solutions, e-Government, and the improvement of citizen and government services.
The award was received by Mr. Iván Ramírez, deputy director of DIGEPRES and Karla Ureña, head of the entity's Planning and Development Department. With this recognition, the Budget Office reaffirms its commitment to efficiency, continuous improvement, and innovation.
The Budget Office shared this category with the General Directorate of Government Accounting, the Ministry of Finance, the General Directorate of Public Procurement, and the Specialized Airport and Civil Aviation Security Corps. With this recognition, the Government Office of Information and Communication Technology (OGTIC) It acknowledges the progress and contributions of the Budget in digital transformation and services.
The ICT Use and Electronic Government Implementation Index in the Dominican Government (iTicge) was created with the objective of systematically evaluating the efforts made and in progress, concerning the implementation of ICT and e-Government solutions, focused mainly on citizen services, internal efficiency and transparency in the public institutions of the Dominican Republic.
Awards for innovation and social participation
It is recalled that the General Directorate of Budget (DIGEPRES) The Dominican Republic has been recognized in this administration with first place in the category "Best GovTech Solution for Transparency and Accountability" at the Latam Digital 2025 awards.
Furthermore, it ranks as the third most transparent country in the region according to the International Budget Partnership's (IBP) Open Budget Survey. This is the third highest rating in the Americas and ninth in the world.
In the social sphere, DIGEPRES It establishes itself as a benchmark in terms of participation in the field by promoting a more transparent, inclusive and participatory public management.
