DIGEIG swears in the Governmental Integrity and Regulatory Compliance Commission of DIGEPRES to strengthen institutional ethics and transparency

This commission is among the more than one hundred sworn in by DIGEIG, committing to continue promoting a culture of ethics and integrity within the government and the public service. The General Directorate of Ethics and Governmental Integrity (DIGEIG) swore in the Governmental Integrity and Regulatory Compliance Commission (CIGCN) of the General Directorate of Budget (DIGEPRES), as part of the actions aimed at strengthening the culture of integrity, ethics, transparency, regulatory compliance, and the prevention of institutional corruption. The ceremony was held in the Aula Magna of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), presided over by Dr. Milagros Ortiz Bosch, Director General of Ethics and Governmental Integrity and advisor to the Executive Branch on Ethics, Transparency, and Anti-Corruption; Eva Ramírez, Director of the UASD Office of Free Access to Public Information, representing the Rector, Jorge Asjana; and Francisco Álvarez, General Coordinator of Citizen Participation. Berenice Barinas, Executive Director of Ethics and Governmental Integrity, and Carlos Rosado, Director of Ethics and Governmental Integrity, were present. The Internal Control Committee for the Comprehensive Management of the National Budget (CIGCN) of the General Directorate of Budget was accompanied by its highest authority, José Rijo Presbot, Vice Minister of Budget and Accounting and Director General of Budget. During the formal ceremony, Carlos Bereguete Cabrera, Soribel Medina, Wendy Diloné, Ana Ely Comas, and Lidia Castillo were sworn in as representatives of occupational groups; the technical staff is comprised of Julio Gómez, Carlos Pichardo, Sheila Tavarez, and Francisco Méndez. The CIGCN of the General Directorate of Budget (DIGEPRES) was formed through an internal election process overseen by the General Directorate of Ethics and Governmental Integrity (DIGEIG), in compliance with the provisions established for the implementation of the public integrity model. This commission will be responsible for developing actions to promote the Institutional Integrity Code, awareness-raising activities, and supporting initiatives aimed at strengthening ethical values in budget administration. Strengthening the Culture of Integrity: The members of the (CIGCN) of the General Directorate of Budget are among the more than 100 commissions that assumed this commitment at the swearing-in ceremony for a new term, organized by the General Directorate of Ethics and Governmental Integrity (DIGEIG). This act reaffirms the Dominican government's commitment to implementing a culture of integrity, transparency, and compliance, honoring Decree No. 791-21, which declares the creation of these Integrity Commissions in all public institutions a high national priority.
